About Georgian Foundrymen and Material Scientists Society
Foundryman and Scientists society was created on 7th of December 2004 by the meeting taken place on the initiative of Foundryman and Materials Scientists of Faculty of Metallurgy of Georgian Technical University. It was registered on 31st of December 2004 under the registration number 06/9-767. The society represents ideological and functional continuation of the Georgian Foundryman association created in 1990 and lately in 1998 was abolished because of absence of renewal registration.
As it is reflected in the name nowadays the Society unites not only Foundryman representatives but Materials Scientists as well. The associated involves world-famous Georgian scientists from universities and research institutes, experienced professionals from industry, young and high motivated specialists and foundry and materials science students as well.
The main goals of the Georgian Foundryman and Scientists society are followings:
To unify Georgian scientists and use their potential for developing of Georgian and international foundry and materials science;
To exchange the experiences between Georgian and foreign specialists;
To train high level new specialists in foreign universities and industrial companies;
To bring the Georgian foundry and material science level up to standards of developed countries.
Georgian Foundryman and Scientists’ Society from the day of its creation have been working at refreshing of already existing relations with specialists of leading countries. With their assistance the Faculty of Metallurgy of Georgian Technical University and its chairs are conducting works with corresponding faculties and chairs of universities of Germany, Austria, Norway, Poland, Czech and other leading countries for giving official status to already existing relations by concluding contracts of partnership.
