Carbonization of aluminate solutions received from trachytes

M. Mchedlishvili, N. Barateli (Georgian technical university)

ABSTRACT

The process of aluminium oxide deposition from aluminate solutions received by trachytes processing is studied. It is stated that the decomposition of aluminate solutions and the precipitation of aluminium hydroxide starts in 30 min. from the beginning of the process. It is stated that Al2O3 received from trachytes without cleaning of aluminate solutions contains sodium and silicon in carnegieite form as impurities. In order to receive g-Al2O3 free from impurities the solution is to be preliminarily purified from silicon.
